Picture
Melissa is most inspired to support others in creating a sustainable and thriving work life.  Her teaching practice, MindfullyWork, teaches individuals and groups how to create a sane, sustainable work life through mindfulness practices. Her presentations and workshops demystify mindfulness and offer a clear and concise roadmap to creating mindfulness strategies in the workplace, which reduce work-related stress and increase creativity, productivity and efficiency.  She has also coordinated programs and workshops to support emerging entrepreneurs to create a healthy private practice and/or business.

Melissa serves as adjunct faculty at Naropa University, teaching career counseling, transitions and positive psychology in the Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling program in the Graduate School of Psychology.  Naropa University is a Buddhist-inspired university in Boulder, CO which combines eastern practices of meditation and contemplation with western approach to knowledge.

With nearly 20 years of experience in higher education, including career counseling, Melissa received her BA from University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, and her MS in Counseling and Higher Education Leadership from Minnesota State University - Mankato. She moved to Boulder in January 2009, after three years as the director of alumni engagement with a non-profit educational organization dedicated to study abroad, Semester at Sea. She has completed additional training in career counseling, strengths-based counseling, positive psychology and career-related assessments.
